This month: Jan De Nul
Due to a previous successful cooperation with the project manager, Jan De Nul came to MEET HET for the project of a 700-meter long tunnel. We did three types of measurements here: a settlement measurement, a vibration measurement and a water level measurement.
“Jan De Nul is a contractor that does both dredging and infrastructure works. There is also a branch of our company that does foundation techniques and another part that does remediation work,” says Matthias De Roeck, site manager of Jan De Nul Group.
“We are building a 700-meter-long tunnel on this site. Today we have already done several things: on the one hand, we are vibrating sheet piles into the ground, which is the first phase of the tunnel. We are also doing the concrete work, that is, pouring in the floor slabs and the embankment. And below the bridge we are also working on a shoring.”
“The biggest challenge of this project is scheduling. The time frame to perform this work is very short. As a result, we are applying several phases at the same time, and we cannot finish one phase before we start the next.”
“MEET HET does different measurements here. There are three types of measurements that they have done: settlement measurements, vibration measurements and also water level measurements. The cooperation with MEET HET came about through the project manager, who had already worked with them. The cooperation was smoothly established because of this. We are satisfied with it!”
