Hydrostatic settlement measurement – accurate elevation monitoring in real time

For the continuous and extremely precise monitoring of vertical displacements such as settlements or lifts, MEET HET deploys hydrostatic measurement systems. These systems measure height differences based on pressure differences in a closed liquid circuit and offer a solution where classical deformation measurement falls short in accuracy or frequency.

How does the system work
A hydrostatic system consists of a series of pressure-sensitive sensors connected by a system of tubes filled with a specially formulated saturation fluid. Each sensor is linked to a common reference level.

When one of the measurement points changes in altitude, the fluid pressure in the corresponding sensor changes. This pressure change is immediately converted to a height difference in the z-direction. Thus, even the smallest settlements or elevations are accurately recorded – fully automatically and in real time
