Structural monitoring with total station
MEET HET deploys advanced total stations for the accurate tracking of structural motion. These systems measure angles and distances down to the millimeter level, calculating three-dimensional coordinates (x, y, z). They are suitable for both manual repeat measurements and fully automatic, unmanned monitoring.
For manual measurements, a surveyor makes periodic measurements. For continuous follow-up, we install fully automated systems that measure 24/7 and transmit the results in real time to our online platform. There, trend lines are built, deviations are visually displayed and alarm thresholds are set.
Applications include:
- construction pits, high-rise buildings and underground structures
- bridges, tunnels, railroads and infrastructure
- geotechnical risk zones such as slopes or subsidence-prone areas
Our total stations are robust, operate in challenging environments and can be powered by mains electricity, solar panels or fuel cells. This makes them suitable for long-term and autonomous deployment, even in hard-to-reach locations.
Multiple setups and network analysis
For complex situations, such as long tunnel sections or vast construction sites, we combine several total stations into a single measurement network. Through network equalization, we analyze the whole as a coherent system, checking each measurement point from different angles. In this way, we increase the accuracy and reliability of the whole.
In addition, we work with reference points linked to our own local RTK network. This allows positions to be tracked not only among themselves, but also in a stable coordinate system. The result is an extremely precise, robust measurement system capable of detecting even minimal deviations in a timely manner.
